small things I've picked up

Life Lessons.

Short. No need to overexplain.

01

Dont listen to excuses your head made up just so that you don't have to do it.

02

You're slow because your indecisive. Stop thinking about what to do, just pick one and start doing — you'll be done way faster.

03

Comparison is the thief of joy. Compare yourself to others and you'll be consumed by jealousy. Admire, not jealous and grumpy.

04

You will learn 80% of a skill when you start something, and 20% to truly master it. Remember how you're already pretty good (80%) with the yoimiya website with only a couple months, but over years you've only gotten 20% better.

05

Consistency is everything, motivation doesn't matter, system does.

06

The smaller the initial requirement (time) for a task, the more likely you are to start — and once started, you will often exceed the original commitment effortlessly. Think of it: if you decide to play a game for 5 minutes, then suddenly you've played for hours.

07

Don't compare yourself to others — the only enemy you have is yourself. Be better than yourself from yesterday (remember Hakuji, Demon Slayer). Look inward.

08

If you keep ignoring these rules you will never grow as a person.

09

Indulge in what you genuinely choose to. Don't fear losing feeling good if it wasn't something you chose to begin with, like internet social media attention. Choose what feeds your life, not what steals your attention. Though one may conquer a thousand times a thousand men in battle, yet he indeed is the noblest victor who conquers himself.

"Learn to govern yourself rather than being governed by yourself."

Your mind can pull you in a hundred directions:

  • FOMO says go experience everything.
  • Fear says you need to secure your future immediately.
  • Desire says you need more.
  • Regret says you're wasting your time.
  • Loneliness says find someone.
  • Attachment says get that person back.
  • Anxiety says you aren't doing enough.
  • Ambition says keep pushing.
  • Exhaustion says do nothing.

And you can spend your entire life obeying whichever voice happens to be loudest.

To live your own way, you first need enough mastery over yourself that your life isn't being dictated by every passing desire, fear, comparison, or expectation.

10

Your brain is like water — it follows the path of least resistance. It will do whatever is easiest and most rewarding.

11

If you want to change, change the default you — not the motivated you.

12

Check for overstimulation. If you are, make yourself bored — it'll jumpstart your brain and clear everything.
